Your helicopter will land directly on the glacier, where you’ll spend approximately 30 minutes walking on ancient ice guided by your pilot. With crampons provided, you'll safely explore blue melt pools, crevasses, and natural ice sculptures carved by wind, water, and time.

This is the perfect tour for those who want to see Alaska’s icy heart in a short amount of time — without compromising the experience.

What to Bring

Summer (May 1 – September 19)

• Hiking boots or athletic shoes (no open-toe or heeled shoes)

• Empty water bottle (for fresh glacier water!)

Winter (September 20 – May 1)

• Winter boots & thick jacket

• Prohibited items: bear spray, lighters, battery packs, loaded guns, backpacks
• Passenger weights: Accurate weights required at booking and check-in
• Guests 250+ lbs: $150 comfort surcharge applies
• Guests 300+ lbs: Call to reserve flight in larger AStar helicopter
• Helicopter seating is based on FAA-approved weight balance and cannot be guaranteed

Cancellation Policy

Full payment is due 72 hours prior to your tour.

When booked directly with Alaska Helicopter Tours:

• Free cancellation if made 72+ hours in advance
• No refunds for cancellations within 72 hours
• Rescheduling within 72 hours possible for a $200 fee, unless Trip Protection is purchased
• No-shows or late arrivals forfeit their payment
• Full refund provided if tour is cancelled due to weather or safety concerns

Trip Protection is strongly recommended.

When booked through another agency:

• Follow the cancellation policy of your booking agency
• Contact the agency directly for cancellations
• Do not contact Alaska Helicopter Tours directly if booked through a third party
