About the Experience
Check in at 29979 East Knik River Road, Palmer, AK 99645 and complete a quick gear review before boarding your helicopter. After a scenic transit over the Chugach Range, Knik Glacier, Lake George, and the Great Gorge of the Knik (a National Natural Landmark), your pilot sets down above timberline in a pristine alpine basin. As the rotor wash fades, silence takes over—broken only by wind and distant ice. Your guide tailors the route to your preferences and conditions: mellow meanders over tundra, thoughtful stops for photography, or steeper scrambles to ridge-top viewpoints with glaciers sprawled below.
Photographers are welcome to stay close to the landing zone with tripods and long lenses while your guide keeps watch for changing light and wildlife. Expect intimate glacier views, wild terrain underfoot, and the freedom to shape the pace and path of your hike.
