Tour Overview
Experience two unforgettable adventures in one incredible tour! Fly by helicopter over the breathtaking Chugach Mountains and Knik Glacier, then land on a snowy mountaintop where a team of Alaskan huskies and their mushers await. Glide across real snow on a thrilling 2-mile dogsled ride through some of Alaska's most scenic terrain.
After meeting the huskies, taking photos, and hearing amazing stories from seasoned mushers, you’ll board the helicopter again for a second landing — this time on the lower glacier. Explore shimmering blue melt pools, crevasses, and other glacial features with your pilot-guide. It’s the ultimate multi-activity tour!

Additional Information
- Check-in: Please arrive 45 minutes before your scheduled departure
- Passenger weight: Accurate weights required at booking and check-in. Max per seat: 300 lbs. Guests over 250 lbs will be charged a $150 comfort surcharge. Guests 300 lbs+ must contact us to arrange a larger aircraft
- Helicopter seating: May be split between multiple helicopters. All guests land and tour together
- Prohibited items: Bear spray, lighters, battery packs, loaded firearms, loose straps, and large bags/backpacks

FAQs
- Is it cold on the glacier? Yes — the dogsled camp is located 4,000 ft high. Please dress in layers and be prepared for variable weather.
- Should we tip our guide? Tipping is appreciated! 5–10% is standard.
- Will my group fly in the same helicopter? We cannot guarantee it due to weight and safety configurations, but you will all land and explore together.
- Can I stay at the Alaska Glacier Lodge? Yes! Contact us or visit the lodge site to reserve a room.
Cancellation Policy
Full payment is due 72 hours before your tour.
When booked directly with Alaska Helicopter Tours:
- Free cancellation if made 72+ hours in advance
- Bookings canceled within 72 hours are non-refundable
- Rescheduling within 72 hours incurs a $200 fee unless Trip Protection was purchased
- No-shows and late arrivals forfeit their payment
- In case of weather/safety cancellations, a full refund is provided
Trip Protection is strongly recommended.
When booked through another agency:
- Follow the agency’s cancellation policy
- Cancellations must be made directly with the agency
- Do not contact Alaska Helicopter Tours directly for 3rd-party bookings
Travel insurance is highly recommended.
