We had such a great experience with Mauna Loa Helicopter Tours in Kauai. Our flight did get delayed because of weather, but they kept us updated and made it really easy to adjust our scheduled time. We appreciated how clearly they communicated and how smoothly they handled everything — especially since weather delays are out of anyone’s control. Jake was our pilot and we really liked him. He was easygoing, informative, and made us feel comfortable the whole time. You can tell he knows the island well and enjoys what he does. The flight felt smooth and safe, and the views were just incredible. Tip: go with doors off! Overall, it was definitely a highlight of our trip. We’d absolutely recommend them — and Jake in particular — to anyone visiting Kauai.

Kauai is the best island for a helicopter 🚁 tour and our pilot made this adventure excellent. He contributed to the experience by adding information and history of the island and especially the areas we were flying over. It was well worth the cost. He even provided us with smart phone holders to take photos without worries of accidently losing our phones. One of the highlights of our trip to Kauai.

It is a must do experience on Kauai. The views are absolutely breathtaking. We travel a lot and it was definitely one of the top experiences we had ever had. Our pilot Dylan was super friendly and knowledgeable about the island. And most importantly we felt really safe in his hands although we chose the doors off version which adds some extra flavour to this experience. If you ever decide to do a helicopter flight the Kauai island is definitely a great place to do it. The helicopter is a 4 sitter so it’s a great option for a family of 3 or couples. And I definitely recommend Mauna Loa Helicopter Tours. You will find many operators on the island but this one was recommended to us by another operator that was already sold out. And we are very greatful we decided to fly with Mauna Loa. And one more hint try to book an early flight because it gets cloudy later in the afternoon and the views might be not so great.

We did the doors-off Big Island tour and it was definitely one of the best parts of my entire trip. Check-in was extremely efficient and Jackie was great in making sure we were properly prepped. Thank goodness she suggested the better layers for the higher elevation! Our pilot Tyler was really awesome. He was super friendly, knowledgeable and made the whole flight relaxed and fun. I’m a (fixed wing) private pilot so really appreciated that he took time to explain how helicopters differed from fixed wing aircraft and answer my million questions on the procedures they use. That was honestly one of the coolest parts for me personally. The doors-off experience was absolutely incredible and I think made it such a unique experience. It does get cold at higher elevations especially for those in the back catching the wind (luckily that wasnt me) but the unobstructed views down the warm coast made it well worth it. We even got a really good view of some whales! I would highly recommend Mauna Loa and definitely fly with Tyler if you can.

Breathtaking! Door-off, a must-do for an unparalleled experience. The experience is private (2 or 3 clients per flight) and well worth the cost if you have the budget. The best seat is behind the pilot. We couldn't see Jurassic Falls due to the weather, but our pilot adapted the route to show us other spectacular landscapes. It was windy but safe. The entire process went smoothly with Mauna Loa Helicopters. Don't hesitate!
