The open door helicopter tour of Kauai was delightful! Mei did a great job of prepping us for the flight with requiredtraining and insights about how to make the most of the experience.
Our pilot, Aiden, was very competent and professional, and provided an educational and entertaining narrative of what we were seeing as we explored the whole island. A great touch was the Jurrasic Park music as we were flying over the areas where the first Jurrasic Park movie were filmed. While the flight with the doors off was quite exhilarating and enabled fantasticviews of the scenery, it always felt very safe. The 360 degree rainbow was a particular highlight you can't see from the ground. We highly recommend this experience!
We had an amazing private helicopter doors off experience in February (winter). Don't worry about the weather anfld just book, as we had amazing clear views in February! The crew will keep you safe at all times. We were informed in a great way before and during the flight.
Absolute highlight of our 2.5 week trip to multiple islands of Hawaii. The views and experience are spectular. Would definitely do it again when we visit Hawaii again!
Our Ali’s helicopter tour of Kaua’i was a brilliant experience. Stuart and Kendra were very safety conscious, which made the whole trip very comfortable and confident. Stuart was a very considerate pilot, maneuvering the helicopter so that both passengers got a good view of everything. And everything was just beautiful because Kaua’i is beautiful. And Stuart was very knowledgeable in answering all of our questions. Great flight. So glad we did it.
This tour came recommended from a friend and I couldn't have been more impressed. We had to reschedule the tour and the team were so flexible in helping to accommodate and try and find another time during our stay. We received all the information we needed to prepare prior and the team did a good job of sending reminders as well as calling to provide instructions on how to get to the check-in location.
We were greeted by Auntie May first thing in the morning (it was still dark out!) with a great smile and helped us review the safety procedures and checked in - including how to get the best photos and videos.
Once we were ready to board, our pilot Taylor re-reviewed some safety information and helped us get inside the helicopter safely. The tour itself was spectacular. Taylor was great to ensure both sides of the helicopter could see the same views and take the same photos so there is no "bad side" to sit on. It was also so beautiful to watch the sun rising while viewing the beauty of the Napali coastline. There is no better way to see this and we lucked out that it was such a clear day as it had been rainy and cloudy the couple days prior. This tour is a must when visiting! There is no better way to really see the beauty of Kauai!
Ali'i Kauai Air Tours set us up with a doors-off helicopter tour of the Na Pali Coast that was the highlight of our trip to Kauai! From booking to coordinating the best day/time to having an amazing pilot, Clay, we cannot say enough! Breathtaking and thrilling! Clay also should put out a playlist of the songs he rocked during the flight - it matched the energy of the experience. Cannot wait to do it again someday!

He pointed out so many incredible sights and shared fascinating information about the island, its history, and the landscapes we were flying over. Seeing Kauai from the air was breathtaking—waterfalls, cliffs, and views you simply can’t get any other way. Clay’s smooth flying and great commentary made the experience even better.

Great Helicopter tour company! This was our first time in Kauai and wanted to truly experience the landscape of the island and the Napali Coast. The doors off tour gives you such a unique perspective on the incredible beauty of Kauai. The crew at Ali’i were amazing and so helpful! Our pilot Aiden was really cool and a great tour guide. Would recommend this company to anyone!

The flight revealed the island’s breathtaking beauty from above: emerald valleys, waterfalls cascading straight into lush jungles, dramatic Nā Pali cliffs, and the ocean in every shade of blue. What truly made the experience exceptional, however, was our pilot, Aiden.
Aiden is a true professional - calm, attentive to every detail, and genuinely passionate about what he does. He shared fascinating facts about the island, pointed out hidden spots you simply can’t see from the ground, and always made sure everyone felt comfortable and safe. Thanks to him, the flight was not just a tour, but a truly immersive, wow-factor journey.
If you’re visiting Kauai, this helicopter tour is an absolute must-do, and if you’re lucky enough to fly with Aiden, you’re guaranteed a perfect experience. Highly recommended - I would happily do it again!
If you have the money do this. It’s a must do especially to see the island in one hour! So much of Kauai is inaccessible to the public - both local and tourists…so this is the way to really experience the whole island. You fly along the coasts, the valleys, the canyons and the mountains. I will remember this forever.
I have done a helicopter tour with a different company and prefer Ali’i (this place) so much more. It’s private, you can have doors off, and it’s a smoother ride. Our pilot, Taylor, did a great job providing us information that was interesting and fun! Also his music choices were spot on!
Consider this once in a lifetime incredible flight opportunity if you have the money to invest in this amazing memory.
They do provide phone lanyards but they are not super great, if you book this ahead of time consider buying a phone case with an attached lanyard. Otherwise when using the provided lanyards stay aware of their placement on your phone!
The lobby was super nice, had a good bathroom and the front desk lady was so so nice!
