The doors-off adventure with pilot Felipe was probably one of the best, most exhilarating trips we have ever taken! My cousins and I were hesitant to do the doors off, but we got brave and booked it! We were safely debriefed before the trip, secured in very tightly, and then off we went to see Waimea Canyon, Na Pali coast, waterfalls, clouds, mountains, fresh air!!! So much to take in! There is NO way to see Waimea Canyon better than this! Felipe took us down into the canyons (safely) so we could take up close pictures…. He explained everything very elaborately - what we were seeing, what movies may have been filmed there, the eco system, so so so much information! And we were all mic’d and could talk or ask questions the whole time! The exhilaration of being up above that high with no doors was UNBELIEVABLE! My cousin, Amy, has a fear of heights and said she was cured! It scared her for the first 15 minutes or so, but then she just enjoyed! We are still pinching ourselves that we did it - but we loved it so much! Thank you, Airborne Aviation (and Felipe)! We HIGHLY recommend to all to see Kauai in the best way possible!
This was without a doubt the coolest experience I have ever had. A huge thank you to our pilot Amy for the smooth and thrilling flight as well as all the information and history you shared with us. We were given a talk button but no one the entire flight had anything to say, the entire thing was just breathtaking. The only responses any of us thought were "awesome, cool, this is incredible!" But what's the point in even saying that when everyone already felt it. My boyfriend and I were lucky enough to have front row seats however all four passengers left with smiles on their faces and memories to cherish forever. Amy accomodated equal opportunity viewing for both sides of the helicopter to take in views. I got so many awesome pictures and videos of the island and am grateful for such an experience. I would also like to say thank you to the rest of the crew for the positive vibes and friendly attitudes, you really lightened up any tension and started the day off with smiles. The joking around and comfort in "this is what we do" was truly reassuring before we ever saw the helicopter. There is not one negative thing to say about this experience if anyone is interested please don't hesitate. This was the last of many tours, charters or luaus we had booked and though it was the shortest it was by far the best experience we had here.
SIDE NOTE: I almost missed the event due to bad weather, I was booked for Saturday however the staff reached out warning me that the chances of rain for Saturday were 60%. They recommended I switched to Friday as it would be clear skies and even worked around another tour I had scheduled in advanced to accommodate for me still getting to attend both events. THANK YOU !! I wouldn't have really known what I missed out on. However this was the tour I was most excited for and would have been incredibly disappointed had I missed it, though it would have been no fault of theirs. We were warned weather may cancel flights when we booked the tour. They did not let me miss my flight 😊🧡
Our helo tour was phenomenal! The doors off tour was exhilarating and added to the experience. I was worried about how my wife would do as scary dangerous appearing things are generally not for her, but she enjoyed it immensely. Max was a great pilot and tour guide and the ground crew did a fantastic job from the time we arrived until we departed. Thanks again, you made our trip!
Amazing experience! The doors-off helicopter tour was absolutely incredible. Our pilot was very skilled and provided clear and interesting commentary throughout the one-hour flight. We got breathtaking views of the Na Pali Coast and the scenery was unreal. Truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience and highly recommended!
We decided to take a colleague's advice and fly in a helicopter with doors off. It was a great tip and we would definitely recommend it. You can take amazing photos and videos, there are no reflections in the windows, you have a full view and you feel like you're right in the middle of it all. At Airborn Aviation, we felt welcome and in good, safe hands at all times. From the pleasant, uncomplicated check-in to Michael's entertaining briefing and the unforgettable flight experience that Felipe, our pilot, gave us. The flight route covered everything that you can't see on Kauai by car or on foot. Felipe's skills as an experienced pilot gave us absolutely spectacular views. We always felt safe, partly because he calmly commented on the scenery throughout the flight. It was one of the best experiences we've had so far and absolutely recommendable – something you have to do on Kauai. Many thanks to Felipe and the whole team at Airborne Aviation.
