What an amazing helicopter flight over Milford and Doubtful sounds!!! A once in a lifetime experience that we’re so happy and grateful to have been able to experience!!! Putting down on the top of a mountain at a lake - otherworldly! Can’t say enough about the trip!!! Highly recommend!
Perfect end to a day on Doubtful Sound, a helicopter scenic ride out. Dropped down in two places for photo ops and dipped in and out of valleys in Fiordland. We were blessed with spectacular weather and Snow, our driver was fabulous. Would highly recommend to anyone thinking about seeing more of the most beautiful place on the planet.
It was definitely a surprising trip! Thanks so much for the Southern lake helicopter for this amazing ride! It took around 45min and we stopped on the Kepler mountain for around 10min to rest and took photos. How sweet was the pilot that after landed he walked in the snow to create a track so that we would not sink in the snow and get cold feet. The life-time experience is unforgettable, flying with all the surrounding snow mountains, which is totally different from the on-land perspective. One must-do thing when you are travelling in Te Anau!
Amazing experience for my dad’s birthday and trip to New Zealand. While weather wasn’t on our side the staff was able to accommodate us on an afternoon vs morning flight that was incredible to Doubtful Sound with two landings. Paul is a great pilot who made sure everyone had a great time, one I will not forget for my lifetime.
Had such an amazing time exploring Fiordland from the sky, with Southern Lakes Helicopters! The staff at the office were super nice, friendly, and knowledgeable. I had the pleasure to fly over both Dusky and Doubtful Sounds with two landings, views being incredible. Huge thanks to our pilot Rod for sharing the knowledge of the area. Definitely one of the best things to do in Te Anau. Highly recommend!
