We did the Grand Knik Landing tour with Alaska Helicopter Tours, and it was absolutely incredible. The views of Knik Glacier and the surrounding mountains were breathtaking—truly one of the highlights of our Alaska trip.
Our pilot and instructor, Dylan, was outstanding. He was professional, friendly, and very knowledgeable, and he made us feel safe and comfortable throughout the flight. He also shared interesting insights about the glacier and the landscape, which made the experience even more special.
The glacier landing itself felt surreal—standing on a massive glacier surrounded by Alaska’s wilderness is something I’ll never forget. Everything was well-organized, smooth, and worth every dollar.

AMAZING TOUR & ADVENTURE! Something everyone who visits Alaska should get to experience. As a life long Alaskan, born and raised, this was one of the coolest things Ive ever done. Our pilot, Brian was a great host and even turned the helicopter around when he saw moose laying out in the woods for a better view of them. The glaciers were so vast and until you landed you couldnt see how big they really were. We got to walk around and experience the glaciers by foot and take all the pictures we wanted. Our guide took all the pictures we asked of him as well. This is an experience I will never forget and super grateful I got to go! If you are thinking about this tour, dont hesitate! Book the tour! You wont regret it! Highly recommend!
A truly fantastic glacier landing helicopter tour from start to finish.
Kayla handled my reservation and immediately set the tone for the experience. She was incredibly kind, took the time to really listen to what I was looking for, and even recommended hotels to stay at. Her suggestion for which tour ended up being the perfect tour for us!
Kevin picked us up via the shuttle, which I highly recommend. It had snowed heavily the night before, and I was so grateful not to have to drive. He got us there safely and comfortably while sharing great stories about Alaska along the way. He made sure we were all set and excited!
Once we arrived, Krystal and Melania greeted us, walked us through the tour details, gave a thorough safety briefing, and even offered refreshments afterward, which was such a thoughtful touch.
Then came the main event. Liam was our pilot (and photographer), and he was absolutely phenomenal. He landed us three times in different locations, with the final landing being one of the most breathtaking natural scenes I have ever experienced. We were able to walk on the glacier, touch it, and truly take it all in. Liam happily took as many photos as we asked for, which was definitely a lot. On the ride back, we were even lucky enough to spot four moose, which felt like the perfect Alaskan bonus.

Alaska Helicopter Tours delivered an unforgettable experience from start to finish. Our pilot, Matias, was exceptional! He was skilled, friendly and genuinely excited to share Alaska’s beauty with us. Seeing the Knik Glacier from the air was absolutely breathtaking, and the landing sites were just as stunning. On our glacier stops, we spotted someone cruising by on a fat‑tire bike, resting moose and people four wheelin which made the moments feel surreal and uniquely Alaskan.
We visited in the winter and the icy landscape was mesmerizing but it left us eager to return in the summer to experience the vibrant colors and crystal‑clear waters. Communication with the staff was seamless and the convenience of being picked up right from our hotel made everything effortless. Before we knew it, we were in the air enjoying a smooth, well‑coordinated ride that felt both safe and exhilarating.

I went on a helicopter ride to the glaciers last year, and it was absolutely fantastic! I got to sit up front, which made the views even more breathtaking. The scenery was stunning the entire way, and our pilot, Shad,made the trip even better by explaining what we were seeing as we flew. He was real nice and thoughtful—when we landed on the glacier, he even made a little path in the snow for me so I wouldn’t get my shoes all snowy (as you can see in the picture!). It was such a special touch to an already amazing experience. Highly recommend!
